Step 1
Consultations
Consultations may take place over the phone or directly at the project site. During this first conversation, we’ll ask detailed questions about your goals, vision, and priorities for the project. If you haven’t already engaged an architect, we’re happy to connect you with a few trusted professionals we highly recommend.
We also strongly encourage working with a building consultant early in the process. Having a professional who understands both design and costs ensures your project is designed within your budget, saving time and preventing costly redesigns down the road. This meeting sets the tone for a smooth, well-planned journey from the very beginning.


Step 2
Preliminary Agreement
Before moving into detailed estimating, we ask our clients to enter into a Preliminary Agreement. This agreement is designed to clearly define expectations, responsibilities, and the scope of pre-construction services. It typically includes:
1. Design & planning support: Coordination with your architect and consultants to aligndesign with budget.
2. Pre-construction estimating: Preliminary pricing checks during design to guide financial decisions.
3. Selections guidance: Early discussions about finishes, allowances, and vendors.
4. Timeline development: Preparing a realistic schedule outline for your project.
This step allows us to dedicate the resources needed to create a thorough, accurate estimate and ensures you receive professional guidance before finalizing your construction contract.
Step 3
Estimating
We use sophisticated software to measure blueprints and virtually analyze every space of your home. Those measurements are then paired with up-to-date unit costs provided by our trade partners, ensuring accuracy in today’s market. This process typically takes about two weeks. Once complete, we’ll invite you to our office to walk through the numbers in detail.


Step 4
Estimate Presentation
We take great pride in presenting estimates in a way that is both transparent and educational. During this meeting, you’ll gain a clear understanding of:
1. How your investment will be managed throughout the project.
2. An overview of the construction process from start to finish.
3. A detailed review of your plans and selections.
4. A breakdown of the pricing for your specific project.
Depending on the project scale, this meeting usually lasts one to two hours. Clients consistently find this session to be one of the most informative parts of the process.
Step 5
Kickoff Meeting Prior to Start
Before breaking ground, we hold a Kickoff Meeting with the full project team — including you and your designer. During this meeting we will:
1. Review and redline the plans in detail.
2. Confirm allowances, selections, and vendor partnerships.
3. Walk through the construction schedule in our project management software(Builder Trend).
4. Answer any outstanding questions about logistics, next steps, and communication.

Step 6
Construction
This is where dreams become reality. Our project managers stay in constant communication with you and your representatives throughout the entire process. Using cutting-edge technology, we provide daily documentation, schedule tracking, financial updates, photos, videos, and ongoing selections management — all available 24/7 through a user-friendly mobile app.
We know that construction can be an emotional roller coaster. At Hask, we are with you every step of the way, making sure the experience is as smooth as the final result.
Key construction phases include:
1. Sitework: Clearing, grading, and preparing the foundation.
2. Framing: Building the structural framework.
3. Exterior: Installing walls, windows, and roofing.
4. MEP: Adding mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
5. Finishing: Completing interior details, finishes, and final quality assurance.
Step 7
Final Project Commissioning & 500-Point Punch List Walk-Through
At Hask, we believe the finish is just as important as the foundation. Before we hand over the keys, we guide you through our comprehensive 500-point punch list walk-through. This detailed process ensures that every element of your home — from major systems to the smallest trim details — meets our high standards of craftsmanship and your expectations.
During commissioning, we also test and verify that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are fully operational and performing as designed. Our team demonstrates how to use and maintain the features of your new home, so you feel confident and comfortable from day one.
This step is about more than checking boxes — it’s about delivering peace of mind. When you move into your completed home, you’ll know that everything has been carefully inspected, refined, and approved.
